You all know I love my Crock Pot! I love how quick, easy and tasty dishes are with the Crock Pot. Today I am in LOVE with this Crock Pot Cinnamon Pecan recipe. Oh my goodness these are amazing.

I made these as DIY Christmas gifts for John's Mom and Grandmother. After making them I wasn't sure I was going to have enough to get in their packages. John absolutely loved these cinnamon sugar pecans and every time I turned around he was walking by "taste testing" another handful to make sure they were all good. I was able to package some up for John's Mom and she told me they were amazing and asked when was the next batch is being made.

Ingredients needed to make Cinnamon Candied Pecans

  • Sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • White
  • Vanilla
  • Pecans
  • Water

Equipment Needed

Crockpot - We suggest using a crockpot that has a digital timer that automatically switches the slow cooker to warm after a set amount of time. This helps make sure your dinner cooks perfectly and you don't have to stress about what time it is going to be done.

Parchment Paper

Baking Sheets - We are huge fans of these baking sheets with sides. You don't have to worry the candied pecans are going to slide right off.

Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.

Recipe Tips

Make sure to spray the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray before adding in the pecans.

The water that gets added at the last 30 minutes makes the candied sugar and cinnamon crisp up and makes it crunchy. If you want to see the sugar and cinnamon parts like the photo you can skip this step.

You will want to set reminders to stir every 20 minutes to make sure the nuts do not stick together. I used a wooden spoon or spatula to easily move them around in the crockpot.

Spreading the pecans out over parchment paper is a great way to let them cool off and completely dry so they don't clump together when you package them.

These cinnamon candied pecans package up so cute in a mason jar with a ribbon and cute labels.

This recipe can be doubled but you will want to make sure that you have space to easily stir the pecans so they don't clump. It may be easier to do multiple batches.

If you double or triple this recipe does it take longer to cook? Also do you add 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 water depending on batch number?

Don't add the water. Nuts are completely ready after three hours. If you add water in most cases the sugar Carmelizes and turns the nuts black and a goer mess. Some even burn.

After reading the reviews, I was apprehensive about trying these. However, I did a little research of similar recipes & it appears the time shown for cooking after adding the water is a bit short. I experimented w/ cooking until the water had cooked down (approximately 45 mins.) & the pecans came out delicious & looking like the ones pictured.

Made a double recipe of these nuts. The nuts got awful!! Watched very closely, stirred every 20 minutes, did not leave the kitchen for 3 hours. I ended washing off the 6 cups of nuts so I would not lose the nuts. Wonder if anyone else had trouble?

      Ashley,
When I measured my brown sugar i packed it in. I had medium eggs, so I used two egg whites, and made sure they were good and frothy. After i added the water, mine were sticky. They were like a thick syrup. I let them dry on parchment paper overnight and they are amazing thus morning.

        HI,

The top of your recipe says cook for 3 hours. The bottom says cook for 3-4 hours. How do I know how long the nuts need? The water needs to be added 30 minutes before the end, but is that at @.5 hours or 3.5 hours?

        Thanks,
        Jennifer
