Attributes (2024)

Attributes, or stats, are the player's characteristics that determine the extent of various things they are able to do. Each attribute has a value assigned to it; the higher the number is, the stronger the player's given capability is. Most attributes improve as the player character's experience level increases.

Level[]

Main article: Experience

The player's Level determines certain base attributes, dictates which clothing, weapons, and accessories the player can equip and use, and is used as an indicator of the player's readiness to tackle some main missions or Hazardous Ruins. The player begins the game at level 1, and the maximum possible level is level 99.

The player increases their level automatically after gaining enough experience points. Most tasks in the game give experience points: completing missions and commissions, gathering materials from either the wild or crafting stations, and other activities.

Health[]

Health is the maximum amount of ⁠Health Points⁠ the player has available. When the player's Health reaches zero, the player collapses and gets a Game Over screen. Health is drained by enemy attacks in combat, getting hit by traps and hazards in Hazardous or Abandoned Ruins, harmful debuffs, taking fall damage by jumping from considerable heights. Health is restored by sleeping or using certain consumable items. Sleeping fully restores HP.

Items that can increase maximum Health:

Stamina[]

Stamina, or Ability Power, is the amount of ⁠Stamina Points⁠ (stamina points) the player has to spend on their daily activities. Stamina is drained as the player completes certain actions, such as chopping down trees, mining, using weapons in combat. Stamina can be restored through sleeping, resting on certain pieces of furniture, consuming certain foods, dining at the Blue Moon Saloon, or using knowledge skills or certain tool affixes. When stamina reaches at or near zero, the player will no longer be able to perform stamina-consuming tasks until their stamina is restored.

Items that increase Stamina:

Endurance[]

Endurance is a combat stat. Endurance is spent on dodge rolling and restores over time. Sprinting does not consume endurance.

Maximum endurance can be increased by equipping shoes.

Offensive stats[]

Offensive stats affect the damage the player deals in combat.

Attack[]

Attributes (1) Attack is the primary offensive stat: the higher the player's attack power, the higher the damage dealt by their attack to their target's health. (The damage is also affected by the target's defense.)

Weapons

The effective attack value when fighting enemies is the base stat value combined with the value of the weapon selected in the active slot to determine the damage. If no weapon or tool is selected, the player will fight bare-handed.

Equipped weapons increase the player's attack; the higher level and quality weapons usually give higher attack bonuses. Additionally, the following increases the player's attack:

BREAK[]

Attributes (2) BREAK damage is the damage dealt to the target's Toughness (as opposed to damage to their health). Every enemy has a set number of toughness points, and each attack reduces their toughness. When their toughness reaches zero, they will flinch from each attack and take increased damage until their toughness restores over time.

The player's BREAK depends on the type weapon they use and cannot be increased in any other way.

Critical Chance and Damage[]

Attributes (3) Critical Chance determines the chance of Critical Hits happening when the player attacks enemies. Critical Hits are more powerful than a normal attack. Attributes (4) Critical Damage determines how much extra damage the Critical Hits do.

Additionally, the player's weapons have a chance to have an affix that increases critical chance or damage.

Defensive stats[]

Defense[]

Attributes (5) Defense is the player's primary defensive attribute. Defense reduces the damage the player takes from enemy attacks and environmental hazards like traps; the higher the player's defense is, the more the incoming damage is reduced.

The following increases the player's defense:

Toughness[]

Attributes (6) Toughness affects the player's ability not to be interrupted by enemy attacks or taking damage. Toughness points are shown as small circles above the hotbar during combat. While the player has toughness points, their actions will not be interrupted and they will not flinch from enemy attacks. Each enemy attack deals BREAK damage in addition to health damage, depleting the player's toughness. Once all toughness points are depleted, the player will flinch from attacks and will take increased damage until their toughness restores over time.

Toughness points from 1 to 10 are shown as yellow circles, points 11 to 20 as blue circles, and points 21 to 30 as red circles.

Most hats (except the Miner's Hat) increase the player's toughness. Additionally, any Perfect or Rare quality clothing has a chance to have a toughness affix.

Luck[]

Improves damage spread within Min-Max range. Improves loot from kicking trees. Reported to affect fishing by which fish spawn for bait. Does not seem to affect anything else.
